Cleaning a leo tank

Cleaning a leo tank

I need some advice.. i have recently bought a new tank for my Leo (leopard Gecko) and I was wondering what was the best thing to use to clean a new tank, i have heard vinager, also distilled water also 10% bleach/water.. whats safest.. i never had to get a new cage my Leo came already established in his tank

If the tank were used when you bought it, I would use the 10% bleach solution as that will remove any potential bacteria hiding in the enclosure. Make sure you rinse it well enough that you don't smell any of the bleach when you are done. If you still smell bleach, there is still residue in the tank.

If it were a brand new tank from the store, you could clean it with ordinary dish soap and warm water. The primary reason for cleaning a new tank is to remove dust, residue from building, etc. There should be no bacteria hiding in the tank if it never housed an animal and was packaged.
