Leo Egg Question

First a warning ~ I'm a typical worrying Mommy to be so there are bound to be a lot of questions from me in the weeks to come

My leo just laid her first 2 eggs yesterday ~ they appear to be healthy, white and firm. But, they are stuck together. Will this be a problem? I'm afraid to force them apart as I don't want to destroy the outside of them, but they do not seem to want to separate! Any advice? Should I just leave them alone? I know they are not supposed to have water placed directly on them and after the past day of incubating in a fairly humid environment they still don't appear to want to come apart. Sorry for all the questions!

Re: Leo Egg Question

I believe you can leave them together. If you try and seperate them, you could cause the eggs to tear. What is your humidity at?

Re: Leo Egg Question

I have one of those lame dial type of humidity gagues and it reads around 78%. That is in the incubator ~ as for the moist hide that they were laid in I don't know..... I realize that is quite variable based on the sorry equipment, I will invest in a decent hydrometer this Thursday. I am going to leave them together and hope for the best. The only problem I can forsee is if one egg would end up rotten it would probably spread right to the other. Thank you for the quick reply!

Re: Leo Egg Question

don't worry to much, many reptile eggs naturally stick together after being laid. it used to happen to my leopards an fat-tailed geckos and most of the babies came out 100% healthy.
