Re: What is Correct Water Temp to Soak a Uro In?

So are you talking about a uro or a gecko?

luke warm. usually specifics are way to hard to achieve from a faucet. When I soak my red tail boa I usually make it just ever so slightly warm to the touch. he appreciates it, and if its not quite right he will move part of his body to compensate

i realize leo's dont have this same capacity, so ur best bet is to provide a shallow end where ur leo can get most of him/herself out of the water. ambient temp will provide a balance.

also, an easy way around is to wait for the skin to split and just use warm water and q-tip to scrub feet if there is a problem. my gf is a leo owner and does this when "toby" has a rough shed

If you shoot for water around 80-85 degrees, it will be ideal. You can use a human thermometer to measure the temps if you need to. Since our bodies are 98 degrees, it will not be extremely warm to the touch.

Water will actually begin feeling warm in the 80s since appendage temeratures drops sharply and sensation of temperature is relative to your tissue temp. But this is still correct, at appropriate temperatures, the water will barely feel warm at all.
