Quick Question?

I'm off to sleep in a bit, and I had just glanced over at my tank, and my two Leo's, Autumn and Freddy ( Male and Female ) Are curled up together sound asleep.

It sparked a question that I had forgot to ask when I first joined..

Is the fact that they show no aggression towards one another, no bully-ing etc - mean that they are good tank mates, or is it just a coincidence, and they should be housed seperately?

I have never seen them fight, knit-pick, or throw hissy fits with each other ever since I had put her in with him a few weeks after I had gotten her, I've had the male ever since he was born. ( I've seen them share a bowl of meal worms, my cousin's often wait turns, or fight..)
They have mated, and It was her first clutch, and she laid two perfectly healthy babies, whom I had given to my friend who is a Herpatology Major in Western Mass. ( They are currently " The cutest things ever" as she calls them lol )
Anyways, back to the point..
They will share the same coconut shell, and often curl up together, and just sleep peacefully. Like i've said, I've never seen them fight, and I hope it does'nt mean I should still seperate them.

Anyways, I will check back in the A.M.

G'night :]

Re: Quick Question?

The only concern that I have would be stressing the female due to constant breeding attempts. And constantly being bred and laying eggs will be very taxing on her body. It might be good to seperate them from time to time to give her a rest.

Re: Quick Question?

So other than giving her a week or two break, it would be ok to house them together?

Re: Quick Question?

I had more like several months in mind.
A week or two will not really make any difference.
Or you could always add another appropriately sized female to the mix to take some pressure off.
After a quarantine of course.

Re: Quick Question?

If I were to take her out for several months, then reintroduce her, would it take time for them to reaccquaint?

Re: Quick Question?

You might have to rearrange the tank a bit to elimnate any territory problems but it should be fine. And if there is a skirmish you already have another enclosure to seperate them for a bit and try again later.
