A sad but happy thanksgiving
I have just recevIed quite a leopard gecko. Guessing it's a hypo. The person that let me have It was a ch1lds mother. Th1s ch1ld was pretty unconcerned about the geckos health after he got bored. Also he 1s suffer1ng from some mental problems that k1nd of lower h1s respons1b1l1ty. So theres no real need to reprt h1m or h1s mother to an1mal abuse. The boy somet1mes squeeezed the geckos ta1l so hard that a upcom1ng shed on the ta1l that never showed up yet just pop r1ght off and k1nd of bru1se the ta1l. Also the gecko 1s 2 years old. Yet looks l1ke a 2-4 month old. He 1s currently 1n a 10 gallon tank and eat1ng a cr1cket or two a day.
P1cs com1ng soon
ALso 1 am sorry for the 1's tak1ng over for the IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII's... The I key 1s gett1ng really hard to push down. 1 Th1nk someth1ng 1s under 1t

If I can get a camera quick enough I may have before and after pics. It's qute bad, especially when a leo is so little and an adult.
NOTE: I got my steak knife under the key and the I is working a little better. But now the o is actng up just alil bit.

Hello,
Pop the key off and remove whatever is under it. then just click the key back in place. They are only on with a little push pin type gizmo.

Well done on taking in the poor little fella.. it's a shame that the mother didn't assume responsibility sooner, but I hope he does well now he is in your care,. please post pics, it would be nice to see him. Good luck - lots of good food, proper supplementation, and plenty of TLC and I'm sure he'll be on the mend sooner than you know.

Well he has literally bit me 42 times, went insane dont know howmany times, and is now bleeding from the tail... SMall cuts are forming and if paper towel touches him the blood shows right on it. Any tips on some thing safe to stop the bleeding please? Gosh, I feel as if he dropped his tail he would be better. I can tell he feels those cuts. He bites me every time I put my hand n the tank and every time I put some neosporin on him. I feel so bad.

Hello,
To stop the bleeding, cornstarch works great. The biting will subside once the wounds begin to heal. It is nothing more than a defense mechanism. If the tail is going to drop, let it happen on its own. A tail drop is very stressful on the reptile.
Has the little guy been eating for you?
