Egg Problems

My normal leopard gecko is a very good mom and has laid between 5-6 clutches but unfortunatly the eggs form "dents" and then dry up, she lays them in the sand if that has any reason for the dents. I use proper incubation but they seem the dry up anyways, help please!

Re: Egg Problems

What do you do for humidity in the incubator? What are your incubator temps?

Re: Egg Problems

We have bred lots of leopards. The problem you have is that the eggs are drying out. We provide a container in the parent tank with moist vermiculite, but we still move the eggs fairly quickly to the incubator since the habitat is fairly dry. We keep the eggs in moist vermiculite in the incubator and spray on a regular basis to keep humidity up. We also keep a container of water in the incubator to raise humidity. Make sure the vermiculite is moist but not soaking wet or the eggs will rot. We have had 100% hatch rates using this technique.
