poor baby got herself stuck in her small rock hide! She had her tail and head sticking out at the same time and she was seriously stuck! I freaked out and picked up the rock (luckily had the bottom opened so I could try and help get her out...she made a squeaking HELP noise and then popped out! I didn't put that hide back in ofcurse..but now I am thinking her moist hide is just as small? I am worried she could get stuck there too. She has the small moist hide for Leopard Geckos (got it from petsmart) it has a small hoe on the top and it comes apart in the middie..I use a damp paper towel inthere. She was in there not too long ago and was fine. I never seen a bigger one like it..and I really like the hide..but I just don't want her to get stuck in it. I sm sure she got stuck in the small rock hide cause she was half in and half out at the same time..but geez!

I think the hole to the moist hie is smaller so she may not be able to do the same thing ~ tail and head in the hole at one time. Has this happened to anyone else?

I am lucky her tail didn't come off!

Can you show us a pic of sunshine near the hide for comparison? I just watch gecko size vs. hide size and upgrade early because of paranoia.

yeah I can do that tomorrow...

she fits in it, the hole is big enough..but she isn't thinking when she goes in and her tail hangs out then she tries to come out and WHOOPS I can move ya know! It was so scarey! She has other hides about this size too that I worry about she seems to like them alot and hasn't gotten stuck but now I think maybe I should just go out and get all new ones (except for the one which will never be too small. I might just go ahead and do that and use the smaller rock for the fish?

here is her favorate hide/cave she likes to sleep in during the day that looks small as well..she hangs off the ledge..so I guess I shoud find a new one?

That rock hut does look like a tight fit, when in doubt upgrade, since shes probably almost done growing you shouldn't have to upgrade hides again. I always use margarine tubs for my growing lizards because they are cheap and easy to cut larger holes in.

Hey Paige! Long time no see. Yeah, I knew someone that happened to except they weren't around for it...they went to the room and their gecko was dead...not sure what happened exactly but the skin around the neck was rubed off...I guess it paniced? Anyway, since I heard that I try to keep all hiding holes about the width of them from foot to foot when they walk. So about a cm on each side of the head? That stuff scared me. Leo squeaks scare me also. She's looking WICKED btw! What a big fat tail!
