If any of you remember, I had a thread a while back about my Leo who became impacted.

Nice looking little one!
That tail is a bit on the thin side though.

Re: My Leo Pics

Nice pattern, I was just thinking that about the tail.

Like I said, he just finished over-coming impaction.

If you think that's thin, you should have seen him after the 13 days he didn't eat.

Sad part is, he was eating huge crickets before the impaction. Ever since, he doesn't touch the big ones, so I have been slowly building him up, each week I have been buying bigger and bigger crickets.

He's really active though, like he's always running around & climbing the plants and the backing in the tank, I take him out almost once a day and let him climb around the furniture and stuff.

BTW, this little guy is only 3 months old :P

Re: My Leo Pics

When you say huge how big are we talking. That could be the cause of his impaction. The should only be the size of the width between their eyes.

Re: My Leo Pics

My thought as well.
"Huge" crickets may be way to much for him to digest.

The impaction was due to my issues.

Not HUGE, but bigger than I'm feeding now.

He became impacted from a sand substrate....when he was defacating during his healing process it was pure sand coming out of him.

Right now I have him on solely crickets, should I add something to his diet. I feed him every day when I get home from work about 6-8 crickets each time. Perhaps I should be feeding him more?

Re: My Leo Pics

You might try adding some wax worms as a treat. But not to many at a time as they are fatty.

Yeah, I was scared of feeding him Wax Worms only cause I heard that they might refuse the crickets cause all he will want is the candy

I'll buy some tonight on the way home, and try it out. I need to pick up more food anyways.

Re: My Leo Pics

nothing wrong with feeding smaller crickets, you just have to feed more of them at a time.
