So after reading online all day, someone told me that I don't need 2 geckos that if I just have one it wont get lonely. Is this true? And also, i read that you shouldn't feed them store bought crickets b/c they are nutritionaly void. How are you supposed to gut load these crickets? Isn't that what dusting is for, or do you need to do both?
My boyfriend was at the pet store and saw a mister that had nutrients right in the mist, is this more for tokay geckos? Would it work? I never know with pet stores b/c they just want to sell stuff. any suggestions?

Although some die hard fans might say they do get lonely, I would say they don't. Most lizards live solitary lives and only search out each other for mating. Having said that there is an entertainment factor in keeping two together. Watching them interact which each other can be quite amusing.

my leopard gecko does just fine alone and store bought crickets are the best way to go, just remember to buy them about a day before you buy your leopard and feed them(i feed mine lettuce and cricket food) and put a dish or leopard gecko calcium in the gecko terrarium. also if you are just starting out it would be smarter to get one for now so you can get use of taking care of it.

Gut loading just means that you buy the crickets from the pet store and feed them before feeding them to the gecko.

I would advise against feeding them lettuce because it is also nutritionally void. I feed mine a mix of oats, alfalfa, butternut squash, carrots, and whatever I have left over from the iguanas breakfast.

As I stated before I prefer to keep my geckos separate, they don't NEED interaction.

And here is a good way to keep crickets. You can buy them at the store, but be sure to feed them healthy veggies and fruit before feeding to your gecko. What your crickets eat is what your gecko will eat.
