Breeders

I need help finding a breeder for baby leopard geckos. I want to get two baby females so that they are not lonely and they don't fight. I want to get them from a good breeder, but I don't want them to be fancy $100 geckos and up. I would like bright colored ones, but I think I would be fine with normal ones. I live in NC which I don't think matters too much, anyways... does anyone know of some breeders I could contact? Oh yeah, is it best to best to get two babies or is it better to get teenagers or adults? I figured that if I raised them from babies they would be less skidish. I know it would be easier to get 2 females when theyre older. Any suggestions?

Re: Breeders

If you could give us where you are located it might be easier to help you find a breeder and give you some shows to attend.

Re: Breeders

Having two females doesn't ensure that they wont fight, I personally choose to keep my geckos separate for their own safety. Geckos don't get lonely, just remember you need to have the stuff to set up a separate enclosure at the last minute if you notice one dominating the other or something along those lines.

Make sure you read up on this for any pre-purchase education: http://reptileguides.herpcenter.com/...122.html?t=122

Re: Breeders

If you are going to get two babies I wouldn't recommend keeping them together. They tend to have a problem biting each other's tails.

Re: Breeders

if the enclosure you're going to keep them in is large enough, you could put an opaque divider in it and separate them, then you could keep them in the same place, but they wouldn't be able to get to each other and fight. Just make sure you have the required stuff on both sides

Re: Breeders

Most people who breed reptiles do so in their own homes and don't have a sign out front to announce it for security reasons.
