Sunshine my leo

I am going to post pics soon after her next she..which looks like it will be coming up soon.

I was concerned for afew weeks of her behavior. She was in her moist hide like everyday and it isn't like her to do this. She rarely goes in long enough to shed and she is out of there ya know.

It is fall here and it has been warm for Oct. so we had the windows open and her temps were good..but it was humid and she was still in her moist hide? She was in for about a week before she shed and then a week after...which is so strange. One of the days it was 71% humidity (tank guage redaing) in the house and she was still in her moist hide. However the humidty wasn't constanly high it was that day and I am worried.

I kept telling my sister not to smoke in that room .. I am working on getting my tanks moved over to my house..(across the street, but it is hard to find hlp and make room. long story~ been busy) so anyways she is now living in my old room, so she has habits that my critters aren't use to or is it good for them..actually it is bad. I beg her to stop and for the most part she doesn't do it often, but she does do it. I was hoping Sunshine wan't ill from this.

She is eatting and pooping pretty normally..and she hasn't been in ehr mosit hide lately. I was ready to call the vet (even though there is only one vet here that takes lizards and things) to try and figure out what is going on. I guess she is ok now since she is acting like herself again, but will smoking and perfume and other BAD (drugs) things harm her if done in that room?

I really have to get her out of there. Her tank will be the easiest to move...the others will be impossible anytime soon. I can't wait to get them over here..it isn't just up to me though, so I hope they will be ok.

Thanks, Paige

Re: Sunshine my leo

It could be any number of things, but I know that if I was stuck in that room I wouldn't be fairing well, I can't even pass a smoker on the sidewalk without turning green though.

She may be spending her time in the hide to avoid your sister, just because shes new and unfamiliar and you moved all of the things she is used to seeing outside of the cage, like your furniture and stuff, I would suppose that that could be as stressful as moving her since she doesn't recognize her surroundings.

Good luck getting her moved!

Re: Sunshine my leo

Hi Paige! Are you also a memeber at the HCA?? I think you were the one who turned me on to this site ~ if so you should get credit for it. I love it here....

Anyway, your cage looks awesome ~ your leo is very spoiled If I lived closer I would hire my hubby to help you move (he loves when I 'volunteer' him to help people move ) But we aren't planning a trip out east I hope you have a solution soon ~ Im sure Sunshine will bounce back once life gets back to normal.

Re: Sunshine my leo

lol thanks anyways all. i can't even get her to help clean :/ so that is impossible I am afraid. Yes, I am from HCA and I reccomend everybody to this site ha ha and HCA cause it is the best! I am glad you love it like me. I do try to spoil all my critters and furries it is only fair!

I am going to move things soon and at least get Sunshine safe. I hope my hermies will be ok fo afew more months. I hope to wait till spring now for the large tanks. I will have to do it myself I guess. I have so much to do. My biggest worry is getting the large tanks empy and cleaned out and move the stand over and set up the tanks again before they get too stressed. I hope I can do it. A 55 gallon is huge for me and I have 2..and I have fish also..my newt will have to stay..she is in the basement where it is cooler so she is fine for now. I hope I can get through it with out any deaths or breaks me and the tanks ha ha!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Re: Sunshine my leo

really =) I may have to take you up on that, however, I would feel so bad having you come all that way for me ..but I will have to do some planning and measuring before I decide where to move them and make room. I am not sure Sunshines tank will fit where I want now...so I need to figure it out..she will be easy for me to move. ya know if I can't get Dave to help me ( he beter! or else ) it would be wrong to get help from you who doesn't even know me...and shame on him!

I am trying to get a utility sink in the laundry room before I get them over here to make cleaning easier on me. I have lots to do. lol I am asking for one for x mas merry xmas to me lol! but we need it.

I was thinking of moving my crabs tot he 30 newt to the 10 temporarily until the larger tanks are cleaned and the fish tank resealed to make sure it will hold the water..and then off the stand so it won't be so crazy trying to get all the critters out and tank cleaned and then everything moved and put back together in one day...seems like alot. It may take the stress out of rushing and worry off me. I might do it like that... any helpful ideas to make this go smoothly?

I may just have to keep Godazilla my newt in the 20 down grade the crabs to the 30 and then sunshine will be able to fit on the stand too =) I won't like downsizing lol but if it is the only way to get them over here then it is worth it. I think I have it figured out though if everybody here will let me do it. The problem is the house is shared for now and very crowded...I can't wait till it is all mine mwahahaha =)

On the important note...Sunshine is still in her moist hide..she first went in at the begining of the thread 28 so she has been in for 4 days and counting hasn't ate or anything. She usually is out of there asap after her shed....lately she is just doing this and I worry about it. I hope when I get her over here she will do better.
