I'm trying to figure out if I should get a rheostat for my Leopard Geckos & AFTs. They probably need one, but I'm not sure how to tell for sure. They seem to be doing fine, and have a good temp range in their enclosures that they exploit pretty well. The ranges seem OK per the thermometers I have (wall mount & strip), but I just ordered a probe to get a better reading). SO, do I need a rheostat?

best way to tell is to first get accurate temps. A digital thermostat in my opinion is the only way to go. Once you know your actual temp ranges you can determine if a rheo will work for you. best of luck.
