How do you know?
How do you know before a egg is about to hatch. People have told me it starts to wiggle days before it is about to hatch. Is this true, and is there any other ways of telling that their going to hatch?

Re: How do you know?
I have never seen them wiggle, lol. I have however seen them start sweating and denting (collapsing).

Re: How do you know?
Hello,
I have never seen any of my eggs wiggle, though I suppose if the leo is preparing or trying to puncture the egg it could happen. My system for knowing when an egg is going to hatch is simple, I look in the incubator daily. lol If there are hatchlings, they are removed. if there are not, I check the next day. I don't know of any "guaranteed" way to know when the eggs are going to hatch. |

Re: How do you know?
Your best bet would be to find out the specific range of time spent in the egg for the species in question (try Google).
Also, if it is near the suggested maximum number of days, try picking it up and listening for any movement inside the egg. Paleontology! has had an egg hatch in his hand while doing this. Also, there is a chance that the egg will hatch prematurely too, so there might not be a good indicator for that (hopefully it won't happen to you). Paleontology! has had a clutch of Crested gecko eggs (yes, both of them) hatch prematurely recently. Good luck.

Re: How do you know?
That I did, that I did. You have that baby now Mike...good ol Hubert. Yeah, it was a few days after its clutchmate. I find you can sometimes hear them movin around in there when the egg gets bigger.
