Shed

My daughter just came flying into the kitchen to tell me that something is wrong with Ducky. I knew she was fine about an hour earlier. I do an animal check when I get home from work every night.

I went to check on Ducky and she is shedding! But it looks like it is peeling back from her face first. She keeps rubbing on the tank glass and her hides, and is acting a little strange. But I guess shedding may be uncomfortable for her? It looks as she had a bad sunburn and is peeling

I wanted to take a picture of her but she went into her moist hide and I don't want to stress her while she is shedding.

Completely normal! She is going to eat most, if not all of the shed. She first needs to get it off her head and then will start ripping it off her body with her mouth once there is enough to grab,

Katie went in about an hour later and Ducky was eating the last part of the shed off of her tail. I never did get a picture. She has shed several times since we got her but this is the first time we actually saw it happening! Very cool!

Its great to watch a leo shed, I took a full set of snap shots as my leo shed one time, she did it all out of her hide box, it was great to watch her rip it off and devour it all .
