Great success and luck are two different things . Lots of Leopard Geckos have been killed by sand, so why risk it?, because it looks nice?, pretty poor excuse to risk somethings life over .

And so it starts....It was success, it wasnt luck. Lots? Ive only remeber seeing the same old one over and over which really is to old and proves nothing. It also died from Calci sand. But since this is going to start a debate. Just everytime some one says sand and it has something to do with an animal. EVERYONE, i mean everyone craps a brick and throws a hissy fit over it for no reason. Each thier own.

Im sorry not everyone has autopsy reports. If someone really cares about their animals health, it shouldnt take everything under the sun to make them decide not to use something. Its like playing with fire, some people may do it for years and never get burnt, does that make it safe to play with fire?. But whatever, for some people it takes a dead animal before they will believe, I personally find that irresponsible but whatever, can only warn people and if they still choose to use it,thats their choice.

Okay guys, we have enough discussions on the safety of sand, to each their own. If you'd like to read further into the sand debate please do so on an old sand thread.
The substrate in question here is infact oatmeal so lets stay on topic.

Why Oatmeal. Maybe try Honeycomb it's much sweeter. I don't know where people come up with these obsurd substrate ideas.

I wouldent do it. Might do something to their systems if they swallow it. And it would easily mold if it got wet.
