However cleaning alone will not get rid of internal parasites which is most likely what you would be dealing with for going off of food. That will require a vet and medication.

Is there a simple task to see if there are any vital signs that have gone wrong, for example, the liver, kidney, or anything like that? I have acutually had it since it was about 2 months old and now its been a year and a couple of months, but I haven't been able to find any real good info on leopard geckos

The first order of business would be to take a fecal sample to a vet and have it examined for the presence of internal parasites.

How much would it cost to take to the vet?

You will just have to check around. Different vets will charge different amounts. some will do a simple fecal test for 10-15 dollars others think because they tack the term "exotic" on to their business it gives them the right to charge outrageous prices. And a fecal test only involves you taking a fresh poo sample to be examined.
Of course the price I gave is just for the fecal exam. Medication and office visit for the animal would be in addition.

Make sure your reading the temp from a digital thermometer...the stick on ones etc can be off...by a lot. The warm side should be around 90 and the cool side 80. What are you feeding it? You might want to try switching food items

That will work great for their cage/tank but as was already mentioned you will still need to have a fecal float test done by a vet to determine whether there are internal parasites present inside your gecko and what type that they are
The vet will give you meds should he find parasites and instruction on dosage to eradicate them

In answer to the title of this post-an adult or an older juvie with good weight and a nice fat tail can go weeks without food-not recommending it-but they can do it-that is the reason that they store fat

I am not trying to be rude here -but you have got to be kidding about the part about not being able to find any good info on leopard geckos unless you just recently got access to the web

Most breeders sites have excellent care sheets and most forums that have experienced keepers offer tons of info

A simple search of the two words " leopard geckos "will bring up page after page of search results for you

Again I am not trying to be rude -i am just confused as to how you could possibly miss all of the info on the web about these guys
