Pregnant leo pics, Any worries

These are some pics of my prenant leopard gecko (normal) and her mate King Cole(Albino Rainwater), I am confident that the eggs are fertile because he is a reliable breeder. The only worry for leo I have is her skinny tail she has always had this even though she eats well every night. hopefully I did the picture thing right!

Helping you out some

it is quite possible that she may have worms or some parasite. Id get to the vet to check her. Hows her stool look?

IMO those geckos are not up to breeding weight or size, parasites might be the cause, as a rule I never breed a gecko under 60 grams it's really hard on the females laying the eggs.

Breeding females need to be atleast 50 grams. Make sure she gets enough calcium.

Has this female already laid a few clutches of eggs and that is why she is looking on the thin side??
If that is the case and she is in the middle of her season then it is not uncommon for them to drop some weight -some lose more some don't lose any weight
Depends on the Leo

I do not mean to sound harsh but as was already stated-it takes a lot out of the females to produce those eggs and because this is not a species of lizard that often produces eggs without being bred-yeah it does happen-but not as often as say in Bearded Dragons-I believe that it is very important to get them as healthy as possible before introducing them to a male
If she is carrying her first clutch of eggs then I would definitely get a fecal sample into your vet asap so that if she does have parasites-you can get her on some meds
The combo of parasites and producing eggs can be fatal for a female

good luck with her

Sandy

Here is a pic of the size that I like my females to get to before I would even consider breeding them
These are the only 2 females that I bred last year
Unfortunately none of the eggs that these two girls laid hatched/were fertile
I have a beautiful male giant that I paired them with and he seems to be shooting blanks

Delilah-Hybino and Duchess-normal

Delilah-before mating

Duchess before mating

Samson at 107 grams-male that I bred the girls to

Alright hearing that it is normal for them to lose weight during breeding season lifted a rock off my shoulders. Mine was 70 when I started then she went on meds and she has laid 2 eggs and her stool is normal again but she is only like 58 grams. And I have two more females I am going to breed when she is done. they are 79 and 90 grams. And my male is 75!

I had a feeling that she might have already laid at least one clutch of eggs
Every female is different-some lose weight some don't
good luck with the eggs and your future pairings
The weights that you have listed for your breeders sounds more than ample to me

Yes, My leo has already laid 2 clutches of eggs and one of each were fertile, by the way Ladygecko your leopard geckos are just beautiful I'm really impress and thanks for the advice. She was quite plump when I breed her and I will try to make her gain her weight back.
