Tail

Alright my gecko didn't lose her tail but a hide did fall on it. It didn't deattach at any point but she almost doesn't have any feeling in it. And it just is there. What happened and what can I do. I am still paying back my 263 dollar vet bill so don't really have the money right now for another!

She can't feel it. But I did talk to another lady and she said that it might just be a pinched nerve could this be. I have been told to wait a few weeks and let everything take its course? But if she didn't drop it is she going to? She doesn't seem in pain.

Just because the gecko doesn't move doesn't mean she doesn't feel it. Is there a mark from the hide falling on it?

Pictures might be nice.

There is a mark where it fell. There is a small indent in the tail. I haven't been able to get any good pictures of the tail. She doesn't come out but once a day for meds. So I am waiting till at least monday because I try taking pictures of the sick ones. That way I can take them one once a day for handling so they dont hate me forever!

How easily do their tails actually come off. Whenever I handle my leo I also try to avoid her tail to the point where I am sure I am being overcautious. Do you really have to grab hard or yank it hard to make it drop the tail?

If you look at Trempers pictures of his for sales. Most of the time he is holding them by their tail to get pics. I know other lizards its just a grab and it will drop it. I dont know if the leo knows we wont harm them or they grab it lightly to not cause it to drop. But I think you have to grab and hold onto it tightly.
