I have a question about leo's sleeping habits. I guess every one has different habits. The past two days my leo has spent some time sleeping outside of her hide. Usually right up against it. I keep it moist, and since I bought the new digital thermometer with a probe I can tell that inside her moist hide it runs about 88 degrees. Her cool side of the tank also has a hide and that side runs about 72 in the day and about 68 at night.

I would think that she would feel safer sleeping hiden somewhere.

I think your right about different habits, lol. I had a few that would sleep on top, one that sleeps smack in the middle of the tank or hidden in the plants, lol. Maybe try putting a dry hide on the warm side as well and see what she does

She actaully was sitting on top of the hide last night, she was awake and just looking around. Maybe she feels safe enough in her environment that she doesn't need to stay hidden?

The female will sleep in her moist hide or beside it. My son just gave the male who is much larger her half log. He had a wooden house that almost looks like something for a hamster. Not sure she goes in it, but sleeps leaning on one or the other. He also came with a half coconut that is way to small. That was given to my hermit crabs They were both up this morning. We think because of rain it was still pretty dim inside the house.
