Since I posted about it my son seemed to think I was the one to do it I used a baby wash cloth and got some more off. I see one toe is shorter. I do not know if it is from this molt or another one. When I put him back in the tank (son was outside in the snow) his half log was moved on top of the new larger moist hide. I left it that way and he crawled into it. So I hope that and me rubbing/wetting his toes will help along with the moist hide.

How many times a day should I bug him?

I found bigger Gladware at the grocery store for a moist hide. I had cut a hole in the top since this works for the young female Lana. I did that and this male Merlin wouldn't stay in. I just cut a hole in the end like someone posted in a picture (thanks). I also had my son take out the moss and put in papertowels.

Son switched to a washcloth in the moist hide. He would not go near the moss and it kept drying out. What finally fixed it was he molted again. With the right conditions everything came off the right way. Or we just got lucky.
