Sick Gecko?

This is what our member has to say: Do all leo geckos carry parasites? Is this something that you should check on as basic care or only if they are acting sick?...

How many more does that leave in with the sick one. She is who should be removed and the tank needs to be cleaned as well.

All living organisms harbor internal parasites, even humans. Usually there is a balance since it would be counterproductive for a parasite to kill its host. It is when some stress to the system causes the parasite load to increase that there is a problem.
A yearly fecal would not hurt. However I only do that if I suspect something is out of whack.

I am going to do a vecal sample of the tank monday. There is 3 females total in the tank she is in. I mean besides the diarrhea everyone is eating well, very active, and for the most part they don't get held but maybe once a week. I enjoy just watching them and I feel it allows them to still have a wild side!

I agree it sounds like some sorta parasite maybe, I would get a fecal and exam done just to safe.

When mine shows signs of a runny stool, or being sick (I keep them alone) I just take the papertowel with poo on it into the vet and they can still check it.

Good luck and keep us posted

Update. I rescheduled the vet visit. I am unable to pay for the visit until I get paid next wed. I posted an ad in my local craigslist for extra ten gallon tanks and will be seperating so I can moderate who is eating what and I can watch everyone! Thanks for all the help and support. I have spent the morning balling eyes. Ducky and Petrie are my first geckos ever and now that I have so many a part of me wants to part with all of them because I fell like I have neglected them. They were my world when they were my only ones and I kno I am just sharing my love and everyone gets equal attention but a part of me can't help but think if I never got anyone that they would still be healthy. And I have realy began to blaim myself. They are my kids when everyone else turns their back on you your geckos stare at the glass and watch you cry, listen to you yell, and just smile back at you. They don't care how you look or smell! I love these little guys. I even asked my dad for help but he has been laid off so he doesn't have the money to help either! I pray that they will pull threw!

Instead of using 10 gallons, just go buy a couple sterilite 12 or 15qt storage tubs to seperate them, I keep mine in 28qts but in the past when one was sick I have done that to keep them off the rack until I find out the problem.
