Actually, there are no lights that give off D3. Thats what UVB lights are for. Diurnal lizards absorb the UVB radiation, which causes the skin cells to produce a form of D3, which isnt really a vitamin, its more like a hormone. It travels through the bloodstream and its what regulates the absorption of calcium and phosphorous. Since Leopard Geckos are nocturnal, their bodies are designed to get calcium without absorbing D3. Atrificial D3, like that found in supplements, may actually do more harm than good cause in nature they produce it in their skin as a reaction to sunlight. They don't eat it.
Ok, as for taking the leo with you, like the others said, I'd leave him at home.
