baby leopard gecko

I am very sad to say my baby leopard gecko died tonight. She refused the slurry mixture this morning and this afternoon. I just found her about 30 minutes ago and she was dead.

I am heartbroken. I really wanted to try to do the best I could for her.

Thank you for your help.

Kelly

I really thought we were making progess when she was eating the slurry mixture. She really seemed to be perking up. But I guess we were just battling up hill and really started at a disadvantage. It just makes me mad that pet stores sell animals and they don't take care of them. You would think that if you owned a pet store you would really love you animals and make sure that they were cared for properly while you had them. This guy has been in business for over 25 years. My daughter is telling everyone in her middle school what happened. I hope he loses some customers over this!

i know your hurt

But lets think of the child (i know you are) i feel horrible losing a pet sucks but you put up a great fight and that gecko died better off than it would of at any old pet store.Ask your daughter what she wants to do with the gecko (as far as burying it goes) then see what she thinks about a new pet.Double check this gecko or whatever she picks than come and post here before you buy it and see what exactly all you need and stuff like that for the creature.I realy appreciate people who fight for gods creatures thanks.

I'm sorry for your loss. Next time rather than supporting poor petstores I'd look into adopting a rescue. Petfinder.com: Adopt a pet and help an animal shelter rescue a puppy or kitten. has some baby leopard geckos listed in PA.
Best of luck to you and your family in whatever it is you decide to do next. If you reuse the tank be sure to sanitize throughly so you don't pass anything on!

I never thought of looking into petfinder.com As for the tank I think I may invest in a larger tank for the new gecko when we get one. If we do reuse it I will be sure the clean it thoroughly.

My daughter would like to bury Bella in our yard, but right now the ground is frozen. So I am not too sure what we will do. I don't feel right just throwing her out. Whenever we have had any other pets die we have always buried them.

I will be sure to do a lot more research before I buy again. We bought Bella on the cuteness factor never knowing that her tininess that we thought was adorable was actually malnurishment. So we will be much better informed before we buy again.

I'm sorry to hear this. There are times that no matter what you do you cannot change the outcome.

You could always place the gecko in a box and freeze it until the ground thaws. That way your daughter and you could have your ceremony.
