I took Lacey's advice and checked petfinder. There is one leo gecko up for adoption in my general area. Here is a link to the rescue that has the gecko. It looks healthy but I would like for someone to look at it too. I emailed the rescue for details.

Okay, I just found out where this rescue is located and it is a several hour drive from my house, which is just too far. But I will keep looking! Again thanks so much for your help.

One more place to look is craigslist: san francisco bay area classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events. Search your state and town, sometimes there are several reptiles in the pet section.

If nothing else i'm sure some of our east coast members can direct you to a reptile show that would probably have healthy Leopard Geckos and sometimes you can get normals for alot less than the price that the petstore sets since you are buying directly from the breeder.

Since I am off from work today I decided to hop in my car and drive over to the pet store where I bought Bella. The owner was in. I told him what happened. He knew I was having a problem with her because I went in and called last week. He apologized and offered to replace her. He has two other young leo geckos in his store. I didn't have my camera with me to take a picture but the difference between what Bella looked like when I bought her the two he has in now is like night and day. These two are about the same length but must be 4x the weight. They have real fat bellies and a nice thick tail. They have bright eyes and seemed extremely alert when he showed them to me.

I am going to take Kate over there when she gets home from school.

As for the tank that Bella was in what do I need to do to disinfect it? I was going to clean it out with a weak bleach/water solution and rinse super well. Is this good to do?

Since I didn't have my camera I remembered seeing someone else post a picture of a small leo. This is very similiar to what the geckos look like that the pet store owner showed me this afternoon. He was sure how old they were though, he thought a few months.

Frozen ground

That something I've never heard of. I live in Florida thats probably why. If you do decide to disinfect the cage I think 1 part bleach to 3 part water or something drastic like that is the correct measurements for a disinfectant solution.
