Sick Albino

I have only had this little one for 3 weeks. And always I suspect he was neglected by the pet store I bought him from. He has not gained any weight since I have brought him home. She now has began walking with a limp, and doesn't seem to want to move as much and when she does she doesn't want to use her front leg. I do see a little it of swelling. And I am waiting for a vet to open up that deals with herps. And then from there the store I bought him from is going to have a very upset and angry costumer. I have already began to tell all my friends on myspace and everyone near them on craigslist about them. Because they have a 7 day garentee they don't give a rats *** that she is sick. And I am ****ed because it shouldn't matter. This isn't something that happened because of me, and this isn't something I could of prevented. The only person that could have doen this is the pet store. And it ticked me off. And I will make sure that no one goes to them! Here is a picture of her and a picture of a very healthy female!

And my 50grams Healthy female

Also here is a picture of my baby that weighs as much as my albino

I can't see any difference or anything in particular that distinguishes that female from the rest. I don't think you can expect any weight gain in 3 weeks, especially the first 3 weeks in your place.

As for the limp and the swollen, can they be from a fall? Is there anything high in the enclosure from where she might have felt?

Doesn't look like she could have hurt herself in there ... But it's possible if she has low calcium. With soft bones a low fall can do some damage.
Do you know if the petstore had a calcium dish in her enclosure? I can't see from the photo but do you have one in there as well?

Hello,

Instead of focusing on the petstore, focus on the leo. I would suspect that the leo needs calcium supplementation to help improve the bone strength. I know, once again, this isn't the most suggested advice given for a nocturnal animal, but I would provide some UV for 2-3 hours per day. This will allow the leo to generate d3 far faster than oral ingestion and will help speed up the process in which the calcium is absorbed. (This will help speed up the healing as well.)

I agree with Rich, rather than bad mouthing a petstore that may or may not have gotten her in that condition you should focus on treating her before the problem accelerates.
I think the first step is to get her out of the cage with the other females and into her own. The stress of competeing with other Leopard Geckos for food and space may cause things to worsen.

I have seen her eat...I do have a calcium dish in there...I will be seperating her...The pet storejust suggested I watch her and if things don't get better to bring her up to their manager and he said he would take a look at her..And then if he feels that it is a calcium deficiency then he would give me my money back. Because just as he said. The are one of the only reptile store around and he is just tryingto protect their name!

With proper care and the suggestion made above, she/he should bounce back and there should be no need to return. Keep us posted.
