Very Upset! :-(
Well, found out today for sure that the only male I have has MVP because the jerk who had them 1rst didn't know anything about Leopard Geckos. His name is larry and his email starts with shedwellers DON'T purchase any animals from this guy he has no idea. They are supposed to be sub adult....haha yea they probably are about 9months, just very mal nourished. Which I was using them as my breeding project. Not going to happen. I am going to fatten them up and sell them as a pet to someone hopefully, and when the show is in feb hopefully I can go get a male, that is healthy and ready to breed. I am keeping the female jungle but the other 2 I will fatten up and sell. Horrible! I can't believe that people do things like this. I'm sooo MAD! Plus I got ripped off so that makes me even more mad that I paid 100.00 for 4 good as dead Leopard Geckos. I am glad I have them now and I hope they will end up living out there lifes ok, but i'm sure they aren't feeling well now!

I'm sorry to hear that you are upset, but what makes you so sure that they have Metabolic Bone Disease? I don't see any outward signs of it, and trust me, I know Metabolic Bone Disease. Have they been seen by a vet? Have you had blood drawn for a Ca:P ratio?
The very first outward sign that I usually see of Calcium defiency and impending Metabolic Bone Disease is swelling of the forearms, followed by potential breaks, lameness, seizures...etc.
Also have you contacted the breeder to explain that you were not satisifed?
I don't know that I would go as far as to call them 'as good as dead' Maybe a little thin, but nothing compared to what they could be. If you are wiling to put the proper time and care into them you could eventually breed them, you don;t have to jump into it right away. I've been waiting for 3 years to find the right time to breed my blueys. Setbacks come up, you just have to roll with the punches.

Yes I informed him and he had no clue he said and he was no winner and should never own herps at all. Anyways, His front limp he cannot walk on it he falls flat on his flace his face is very soft from landing on it so many times. I had tried to feed him a pinky last night. No luck. He his pooping fine now which is a better sign. The 2 patternless I got one of them to eat a pinky and that was it, all the rest I am picking up waxworms today and see how that goes. Thanks everyone!

I would STRONGLY advise you as his owner that you should make an appointment to get a blood pannel ran on him (atleast a Ca:P ratio test to assess the severity of the problem) and probably get his front limbs and jaw x-rayed to assess the damage that has already been done. Metabolic Bone Disease needs to be treated agressively by a licensed veterinarian.
If it is left untreated the gecko may be permanently crippled.
This is Scooter, he's still recovering, but he'll never regain use of his limbs. Hence the name 'scooter' He came to be when he was at the end, skin and bones, no heat, 3 broken legs, rubber jaw. If left untreated Metabolic Bone Disease can be nasty.
Scooter at one YEAR old, days after I got him:

Thanks I appreciate the input.....I have been feeding waxworms as a treat, they all have calcuim dishes in there tanks. They also have all been pooping, and eating great! They all have gained a few grams and there tails are getting fatter and fatter everyday! The males is not limping on his leg as much anymore and seems to be getting much better. Just wanted to update everyone. I also got one of the patterless (we call them the twins) to eat a pinky will pure calcuim on it to fatten her up, i tried with the rest as well they just refused and wouldn't eat it.

Getting them to gain weight is not the same as treating Metabolic Bone Disease, if you suspect thats what it is I would still strongly encourage you to take them to a vet. As the owner it is your responsibility to see that they get the proper care.
