I have the ceramic floor siliconed in...so I am not waiting for my Under Tank Heater.

Actually I have two questions:

The tank is brand new and the silicone is dry, but the tank still has a smell. I didn't want to put Sunshine in until it was completely gone, but it has been a week now and it still has a smell 9even tough it isn't as bad as I first did the silicone) It could be a "new" tank smell ya know. Will it be safe or should I wait longer. Is there anything else I can do to it to air it our faster or somenthing?


I have everything ready; I even got her acouple more hides.

Second question is about the Under Tank Heater. I have a 20 long and I just got a 30-40 gallon Under Tank Heater off ebay that I am waiting for. However, I already have a 50-60 gallon Under Tank Heater I was going to return cause I thought it was too big. Would that be too big for the leo in the 20 long? I may be able to use the 50-60 in the 150 gallon Tokay tank, but I am not sure he needs it really. I am sure petsmart will take it bak, so I just wanted to ask about it before I did anything.

The Under Tank Heater should cover a third of the enclosure floor space or a half of it if you live in a cold place and need the extra heat. I don't know how big is a 50-60 gallon Under Tank Heater but if you follow the rule above you should be fine.

ok thanks. I think I will stay with the 30-40. I think that will be half way. Plus, safer since a 20 long is the sme floor space as a 30.
