sounds and hides

This is what our member has to say: I think 2 hides in a 10 gl is sufficient, you dont want it to be to cramped, but enough areas to feel secure....

LOL! Wait till a 5 ft iguana gets restless at night and slaps the side of the cage with its tail!
Talk about "Things that go bump in the night!"

Most of the time they'll just walk around for a while every couple of minutes then lye down and sleep again...get up...walk around...lye down...sleep...Skittles likes climbing walls during the night and her hides and she does make a racket sometimes...once she was spazing out at the paper towel she didn't want in her hide and she does make scratchy noises when shes trying ever so hard to climb everything but aside from that she's pretty quiet and doesn't bother me at all...it's not half as bad as a hampster and no wheel for them to run in lol

about the hides I have a 15 and 3 hides and it's pretty cramped but warning...get something big...they grow fast...and more surprising then you think. I got something that was from his tail to his nose thinking he'll still fit in it when it gets bigger...and it's pretty crampy now...and I'm in the process of making him a new moist hide 2...the ziplock squares have gotten to low and to narrow...and I had a lamp box before and that got to small and now she has a kleenex box...I'd just suggest stuff like that for now instead of getting all the fancy ceramic stuff and then having to throw it out because she got to big.

Most Leopard Geckos like small confined spaces, Ive used the same size hides. More secure feeling to them. Med size exo terra hides and small half logs are what I used. they curl up and fall asleep. The sandwhich sized ziplocks work great for moist hides too.

Thank you. I was asked today which side the hides go on in relation to the heat. I see that has been answered already He did ask me which side you put the calcium dish on. That I don't know. Does it matter?

He has a 20 gallon (free). It has a screen cover. He bought a good size half log, spread newspaper out, and put the hide with moss inside. I did tell him to NOT put water in there just yet since we have no critter currently. He knows it will be a bit since we just had the holidays.

I don't think it matters.... You can play it safe and place in the middle.
I do have special attention to place it away from the water dish.
