Patchy shedding?
Both of my Leopard Geckos seem to be having "awkward" sheds right now. Usually they look lovely, then get paler all over, then shed overnight and are back to their beauteous selves. But they've both been developing patchy, white, flaky areas in various spots on their skins. They have a nice moist hide, but I'm not sure what's up with this. Other than just an odd coincidence, any ideas what could be going on? Is there some sort of illness or parasite that could cause this? Should I do anything, or just keep an eye on them?

My Leopard Geckos experience this every once in a while, however after a few days they seem to eat it off and they are back to normal. It has happened maybe 3 times in the last 2 1/2 years, I've had fecals done and no parasites were evident. Keep an eye on them, they should be fine in a few days.

OK. Thanks, guys. Any idea as to the cause? Is it just one of those things, or could it have been caused by the moist hide not being moist enough some days? I've gone from feeding them every day to every other, but maybe I need to moisten that hide every day regardless...

I have never seen that on mine.
Don't know if it's related or not (you didn't specify the areas of the body) but this is the rule on Bearded Dragons after a certain age not only because some areas change faster than others but specially because of sexual dimorphism.

An update on this situation: both Leopard Geckos shed a few days after I posted the question, and they are back to normal. So I'll keep an eye on them, but I think they're just fine.
