always dust the crickets, use a under tank heating thing of some kind. It's better to use them because they're ground dwelling creatures and want the floor to be warm not the air up top that they can't reach. Do NOT put it inside the tank...it covers to much and they all get to hot. Prop the tank up with something so the cord isn't being cut off by the weight of the tank. (You can get rubber stopper and things at hardware walmart or zellers stores. heat sources:
Under Tank Heater
human heating pad (with no auto shut off)
heat rope
heat tape
what ever other weird things are out there these days.
If you use the Under Tank Heater remember that you can never remove it and use it again.
ALWAYS AWLWAYS ALWAYS give them a PURE calcium dish so they can regulate their calcium intake...a lot of the dust on the worms or crickets come off when they've been in the tank a while, but you should dust them also...and with a multivitamin every now and then...make sure your giving him pure calcium and not calcium with D3 (I was told it can be deadly if given in large amounts...like it's not a good idea to put something that's never in sun in sun all the time I guess) expecially in the calcium dish. If you want to use up the D3 give a bit to him on his food once every 2 or 3 weeks, which can apparently help them absorb calcium better but I'm not sure if the dust actually works...I know sunlight does.
And...don't put a leo on sand.
