baby leo in moist hide =)
my new baby is shedding! I am having problems keeping the paper towel moist. I don't know if I could spry it while he is in there 9without scaring him) or should I just not do anything? The paper towel dries out pretty fast. I spryed it yesterday before he got in it cause I have been waiting for him to shed (he has been ashy) but I noticed that it is almost dry by the next morning. So he went in this morning, and I bet the twoel is almost dry....what would you do spray through the hole? or leave it? Thanks! I'll post pics when he finishes his shed. How long does it usually take? THANKS!

You could switch to moss which stays moist longer, or remove the lid and mist around him.

If you put a few paper towels and soak them really well it might hold the water better.

Hello
I Would Get A Humid Hide Box Which You Can Make With Some Moss And A Tupperware Container Just Make Sure There Is No Sharp Edges! It Should Hold The Humidity Better And It Will Help With The Shed!!

i think moss would work best as well. i use clean wet rags for my snakes' moist hides but a lizard's claws may get stuck on them so I would try the moss to see how that goes. good luck.

where is the moist hide at in the tank? mY towels stay wet a good week, the moss for about 2, but if its on the hot side it will dry alot faster. I always had it on the cool side thouhg.

Put a couple more paper towels down. I tried just putting the spray bottle on the paper towel so there would be no spray but he doesn't like the sound of it either (he scream at me). If he's scared of it he'll let you know.

I was told to use paper towel for a baby instead of moss. I will try more towels. I have a moist hide that is made for shedding and egg laying. It is a rock that opens in half to add moss or whatever and has a hole on the top for my leo. I have it on the cool side, but I only have a 10 gallon so it isn't much of a gradient (side not I am looking for a 20 L or bigger if anyone has one to sell =) MD area!) Anyway, he hasn't come out yet. I didn't want to disturb him while he is in there...so what do I do in the mean time just try to spray in the hole? I will wait for you all let me know. I just didn't want to discourage use of the hide or scare him from the hide. =) it is the first time he went in.

You could wait for him to come out...I usually just pop the top to mine now and take him out and spray the thing and put the top back on and he eventually goes back in.
