I have my digital thermometers always inside the enclosures. Mine display the 2 temps at the same time, the one read on the unit and the one read on the probe. They are similar to this.
You can probably find these in your bricolage/construction stores like walmart and such for $10 USD or so. Since you have already one with hygrometer, you could buy one of these. They should be cheap... $5 to $8 USD

I think that is great! I will get one. I am going to walmart today to look. What section are the probes most likely in? I found the temp and humidity gauge in the seasonal would it be the same section? Thanks
OH and my baby is in the moist/shedding hide! He is shedding! he didn't eat last night and I am going to see if he is out to feed him this afternoon. I don't know how long it will take for him to finish, but I found tiny pieces on the tank floor =) yeah! pics will be coming when he cames out! |

Have no idea, I live a zillion miles away on the other side off the Atlantic ocean =)
Btw, when he gets out, check is toes and the other complicated bits to see if everything has come off. There's a list here somewhere.

ok, I hope he sheds without trouble, I will check him out =) I posted a question about spraying the hide if he is in there cause I didnt want to scare him, but the paper towel dries out fast. I found the probe on the internet for 6.90 pluse like 6 for s/h...I am getting that if I can't find one at walmart. it is like the second pic you gave...and to make sure>you leave it in all the time, right? ok and last question: the temp of floor?substrat(paper towel for now) should be what...and then the air temp would be between 88-92 right? I try to keep the warm side around 88-90 because I only have a 10 gallon and I don't want the cool side to get too warm. plus he has a Under Tank Heater also. let me know if this is a good temp.

digital thermometers were in the hardware section in walmart next to the extention cords and stuff here. They moved though after and put them next to the light switches for some reason..its kinda random but they're usually next to the outside 100 dolalr fancy temperature reader things. Don't stick the stick on ones anywhere...they suck period (I think that's what you were asking in a earlier post). I go by the substrate (you don't want the floor to be hot on his toes). To 90 sounds fine on the warm side. Don't let the cool side go below 70 during the night. Everything seems fine to me.

thanks so much. I found a prob on ebay for like 10 with shipping so I guess I might just buy it =). I wanted to know how peple combine the Under Tank Heater and lights though. I just want to make sure I am doing it right. The temps I gave were for the air temp is it the same for the floor temp? What about if they are both on at the same time>it isn't too much is it?

It isn't to much if it doesn't get to hot...normally you might find that the Under Tank Heater is fine...mine seem to really vary in temp (the uths). Come winter you might want to keep the other lamp on it to depending...if you have one of the big round glow lamps you might want to put it on the side instead of laying it directly on top if it gets to hot (That's what I do with Joe's tank)

I am confused now~ it is strange my moonglo 25 watt is up to 91! I turned it off hoing the Under Tank Heater would be enough...I just bought a rhenostat for 20$ and I also got a thermometer for 10...so I am way passed broke but it is going to be worth it =) I can't take it with this temp thing. I haven't had this much trouble with my larger tanks! It is going to get really cold this weekend though...today was warm so I guess that is why it is so hot...I will keep checking it...
