Yes they are black, and gorgeous when they color out fully, I would like to get some black milks, how they start out tri-colored and then turn all black like that.

What is their temperament like as babies, juvies, and adults? Are they nippy like I've been told kings often are? Or is that just a stereotype, and kings are actually no more likely to be nippy than anyone else?

I think aggressive and nippy kings being all that is to them is just wrong, there are plenty of people out there with different species of kings that are just fine, I would say that they can be a bit different in attitude as babies, like a lot of other baby snakes, but you would be that way too if some huge thing was grabbing at you. The adults are just great to handle out of the enclosure, the babies well they are only out of the incubator a short time and already with the tail wiggling, temperment varies from each and every individual, and it depends on backround as well. Of course a wc is going to act a lot different than a CB animal, and so on with cb animals, you can't just leave a snake alone for feeding and cleaning and expect to have a great animal for handling.

They are beauties!! I always wanted a black snake and now I got my Nikita;well,she's not ALL black,but A LOT of black.Wait until they shed,how beautiful they shine(with Nikita it's like that,after a shed she looks like she's wet,lol).
