She's learning!

My sinaloan had her second fuzzy today (her very first she had 8 days ago). Now this time it took her only about 8 min. to get it all down! (First one 15min!) Although she started from the wrong end (the side-lol),so I took it again and showed her where to start-lol! She really is a great snake and I can't wait to show you some pics!
I'm amazed how quick she became tame and what strength in that little snake (she squeezed my hand quite strong-lol)

Some snakes are very strong even when they're little! My cornsnake Jack is very strong...much stronger seeming than our other corns have been.

I'm glad yours is learning well It's funny when they try to take it from the side....My corn, Sally, tried to start on a front paw on her fuzzy today...didn't take her long to figure out that wouldn't work!

Hi lucylou,

try and put an old and worn t-shirt with the "smell" of you inside your snakes tank.I don't really know if this did the trick, but after I left the t-shirt in for a week or so,and then tried to take Sina out,she didn't "run away" anymore.
Now I can even lift her hide and she stays curled up. And then, before I take her out the tank,I put my whole hand over her for a while, and if she stays under my hand I then lift her up gently, from underneath her body.
Well, this worked for me,but every snake has a diffrent character.

How old is your snake and how long have you had her?How often do you "work" with her to get her used to you?

I take her out once a week for "exercise" and getting her used to it,and once a week or every 10 days(it depens) for feeding!

Just be very gentle and don't hold her too tight, sinaloans are usually more nervous and wiggly than a corn snake! And they can be very fast!!

When you say 'grumpy' do you also mean she bites? How are you around her, nervous or cool?
maybe if we know a bit more we can help you better.A snake is also affected by her environment,or how she is held,or treated! But if yours is still a baby you just need to be patient and don't stress her too much!

I saw that you have a cali king!I heard many times that they are a bit agressiv and like to bite -is that true?

love
Jacky

Good luck!!

Thanks Jacky - I'll try that with a t shirt.

Donut isn't a bad snake - it's more down to me lacking confidence
