Re: Monster Easterns
Thanks for sharing the pics. I will admit to not knowing a lot about snakes, but I though handling during and immediately after feeding was not a good idea for fear of causing a regurgitation?

Re: Monster Easterns
that's baloney, i have over 100 common kings and have fed kings in hand literaly 1,000's of times and have never had them regurge.
but yeah, if one don't have the proper snake handling experience then they should'nt do it.

Not always advised but has never happened to me! except for snakes in the wild or one or two cases that hots that are not used to being handled were moved after feeding.
In the wild some snakes will regurge their larger meals if the feel threatened so they can get away faster (especially pythons- happened lots when catching problem african rock pythons in the wild)...should not happen with "tame" snakes. Wild untame snakes in captivity might regurge if picked up after a meal and I know one or two of my rare little obscure hots would probably regurge...but would not be handled anyways.

Re: Monster Easterns
Nice Kings!
I routinely pick my snakes up after feeding, often while the rat is only part way down with just the tail end sticking out and return them to the tank.
Feeding the snake while its in your hand is not the bet idea though.
The heat of your hand will provide a pretty tempting target if the snake misses!

Re: Monster Easterns
man,, if I tried that with my boas, I would have no hand, lol. I cant comment though on them as far as feeding, I never get the pretty ones in rescue, just the ones noone wants because they have outgrown their welcome. I must admit those are absolutely stunning!!
Maybe one day soon I will get a snake I WANT, not everyones else problem snakes, lol.
I love the pics of them hatching, that is great!

hi,
once I was bit by a 4 foot boa in the early 70's that snake left about a half doz. teeth in the palm of my hand.
it was the most painful snake bite I ever experienced.
