New Kingsnake

So after our poor little snow corn passed ...we took her back to the store we bought her from and the (very professional) manager gave us $5 off and a store credit. So we decided to get a little king. He (or she) is very pretty, black and white stripes and quite and active little bugger. We put him in a 10 gal, he's about 8-10 inches long, skinny, and very active. He ate a free pinky that the store gave us and immediatly was active again. Looks healthy and curious. We named him Spot! Ironic, huh? Well just an update.

Re: New Kingsnake

good to hear they were so nice about it. but I would put the king in something bigger. he definitely won't stay in something that small for long and its really hard to get correct temperatures in something that little. if you have an extra bigger enclosure i'd move him over to that now instead of having to stress him out later with another move. if the other enclosure is too big you can always section it off for now then take out the divider when he grows.

definitely make sure you don't put him with any of your others snakes since kings will eat other snakes.

Re: New Kingsnake

hehe...i'm a miss, but no offense taken, nobody really knows unless I say something or they know me.

kingsnakes will eat other snakes, including they're own species.

Re: New Kingsnake

OH yeah I know about the tank being too small, we're waiting on a 55 gallon and I think we'll move our ball to that one, and our king into the one he's in now (a 35, I think?) we're just waiting on it and don't want to put any of our bigger animals into a small tank, being he's the smallest. I'm so excited though, he's a cutie. Our friend with the camera will come tonight and take pictures, unfortunatly my camera is busted. Hopefully he doesn't MUSK me!! ew.
