Caterpillars..........are a pain in the butt

Hehe, I'll keep looking, but these are some of the leads I'm following as of now:

Hemileuca maia
(buck moth)

Junonia coenia (buckeye butterfly).....heh, that rhymes.

Polygonia interrogationis (question mark butterfly)

I'm leaning toward the buckeye at the moment, yours is just a bit dark. I'll take a better look after work though, but now I gotta get back to..uh...work.

They are more pokey than fuzzy, and most of the fuzzy caterpillars are like that because they are covered with little irritating hairs to keep them from getting eaten...which in turn can cause rashes.

Yep..what lacey said. The hairs may not seem very bad*** till you get the rash...Iv learned my lesson the hard way. And that specific caterpillar is covered in little spine like things...so yeah it packs a mean punch.
