Hey there! Glad to be here. Allow me to introduce myself:
My name's Red. (Well, for now ;p) When I was a girl I had all kinds of pets because my mother wouldn't let me get a dog. Recently, I realized I missed having a pet chilling in a tank or cage in my room, and eventually decided on an iguana, or something like it.
I went to the pet shop to look around and get ideas, and there were no iguanas. There were, however, a pair of Chinese Water Dragons. They were lookin' at me all funky, and I was intrigued. I did my research and AAAAAAAGH IGUANAS GET SIX FEET LONG. The more I read about Water Dragons, though, the more I liked.
When I went back to the shop the next day, there was only one left. They were reluctant to sell her, because she had been recovering from bumps on the skin and had been getting meds for it. Eventually they decided to let me take her home, because she was otherwise alert and healthy. They gave me the medicine (which, after a trip to the vet, turned out to be a year old!) and sent us home, to where I had the 55-gallon enclosure all set up.
It took me a week to come up with a name for little Heebeejeebee. She's gorgeous! As my first herp (unless you count a brief gecko escapade when I was young, but let's not

), there's been a lot of reading, a bit of trial and error, and a LOT of worrying. I've had her for four weeks and she's doing great! (aside from being stuck in a 20 gallon tank for awhile because I accidently broke the first one =/ But don't worry; the 270 gal she'll need when she's grown is in the mail.) She just started her first shed and--*Coughs* Okay this is an intro not an essay. But I decided to join a herp community so that I could ask questions and talk about Heebee to people who know what the heck I'm talking about;p
Good to be here, hope to make a lot of friends and learn a bunch!
