RES Problems

Hello-just joined today since I am having problems with my res. I have 2 which I have had for about 6 years. One of them won't stay in the water or eat. I work at a vet, but he isn't very knowledgeable about turtles. We took x-rays and he seems to think she might be constipated. I gave an enepet and he also suggested antibiotic. Can anyone help me shed some light on what is going on with her?
These are her symtoms:
Pink skin that seems to come and go
Not going into water
Not eating
Skin around legs hanging out of shell
When put in water, swims with limbs tucked in, but can walk on them fine out of water
I appreciate the help!

Can you give us a little bit more background info? Such as temps and normal diet and when was his last defecation? BTW...welcome to the HCN! We are glad to have you!

Constipation or obesity could be the problem. What and how much do you feed them? Skin around the legs hanging out, not eating, and basking often could all point to the turtle being either overly full because she eats too much, or overly full because she's constipated. When was her last defecation?

As for the pink skin, I'm not so sure what's causing that. Could you give specifics on the habitat? How often is it cleaned? It almost sounds like an infection of some kind. I have only seen pink skin on a turtle in once. It was in a baby snapping turtle that was being fed fish flakes. The dyes in the food turned the turtle's outer layer of skin pink.
