Ohk, first of all sand is the worst substrate you can use. For my water dragons I used a mixture of peat moss and green moss, it helped keep the humidity up and it looks nice
. You can also use paper towels, shelf liner or newspaper. The bad thing about sand is ingestion, and it dosnt hold humidity at all. Temps should be 84-88 during the day and at nite no lower then 70. At all times humidity needs to be atleast 70%..preferably 80%...as they are easily dehydrated. Do you have a source of UV lighting for them? |

yes they have a UVB lamp I think I was taken for a little ride at the pet store I have 2 glass tanks one was way too small (exo-terra terrarium) for my little guy and after I got his/her partner i was sold a 20 gallon tank still too small for me so im looking at building a 6x3.5x3.5 glass front plywood sides and back drop tile floor (unglazed) with a water fall and pond inside (i probably should have done the research first and bought second, now I know better tho) as I do live in canada the ply wood should help insolate the living space if I have to in the winter ill line the outside with styrofoam for further insulation. as I read more and more here the more and more I realize what the dragons need and im working as quickly as possible to make this happen as ive fallen in love with them and dont want them getting sick as for humidity is there any way to bring it up im not sure where its at as I am awaiting the shipment of gages at the petstore but as it doesn't hold humidity although they got it very wet in there by splashing in the little pool ive built. Ill put a picture of them up in the morning
