I recently got a ball pytho about 3 months ago and I love him to death. his name is hercules and he is gorgeous. i only have one problem though, he shed about 2 months ago and still has some of his old skin on top of his head above his eye, but not on his eye. how can I get that off? i tried soaking him and then take it off myself but it still wont come off.

help.

Hi and welcome to Herpcenter. You can try rubbing some oil like Cod liver oil on the spot, it will help soften it up...

welcome to HC! glad you joined us. you could also try putting some damp towels in a pillowcase and putting him in the pillow case. as he moves around inside the damp towels will help loosen the old shed. i don't think you want to pull the skin off yourself since I think you could damage the scales underneath.

Welcome to the HNC! Ive used both of the above methods for my corns, they both work great. I got My cod live oil at GNC in liquid form and just use a q-tip or cotton to apply it. And if you decide to go with the pillow case method be sure to put the pillowcase with the snake into his enclosure to keep him warm good luck and keep us posted!
