HI everybody! I've never joined any forums before today, and I'm doing so out of necessity.
I have a male Sunglow red tail boa who is about a year and a half old, who is housed with my Pastel female red tail boa, (we've never bred before, and we're hoping for a little romance..lol) Anyway, I came home from work yesterday, and my youngest son told me that "Helios pooped out something bloody" oh goody. Well, of coure I ran in there to check him out.. and lo and behold... his hemipenes are out... WAY out. I admit I have never seen anything like this before.. All my snakes I've ever owned have been female ( luck of the draw, not choice) so I am at a loss as to what to do... Helios was coiled on top of my female ( Curi ) no where near lined up, she was coiled under him. Anyway, like I had said, never had any male snakes before, and all the pictures I have found of a hemipenes only shows the tip... Helios has more than just the tip out... I can see both hemipenes ( look like big purplish raisins ) and connecting tissue that is pink.

What do I do?!? I am making sure it is staying moist ( we mist several times during the day, and one of the lights is directly over their huge water bowl to ensure humidity) but as of early this morning, it was still out. Should I be concerned? How long can it stay this way without causing damage? Of course he is the nastiest snake that I own, (figures) so I'm hopin and a prayin that this will fix itself ( please please please)
If anyone out there has any advice I would greatly appreciate it!!
