Introduction
Hello, my name is Karley and I am desperate to find help with my gravid female. I've taken her to the vet and x-rayed. Vet told me to wait six weeks, nothing. Called the vet, told me to calm down and wait two more weeks, still nothing. Called the vet, said it sounds like she's resorbing her eggs? Does anybody know about this?

Hi Karlito, Welcome to Herp Center Networks!
Does your vet specialize in reptiles? If not you may want to get a second opinion.

Welcome to Herp Center Karley.
By looking at your profile I'm assuming you are talking about your iguana? If you can tell us more about how you have her set up and how she is behaving we might be able to help.
Is she eating?
Is she active?
If she is those are good signs and you likely shouldn't be too worried about her.
If she's lethargic, not moving much, not eating or drinking then you need to get her back to a reptile vet ASAP.
Do you have a nesting area set up for her? has she been digging?
Give us some more info and we'll try to point you in the right direction.

Welcome to HC Network Karley,
IF in fact you are talking about your iguana, yes she could be reabsorbing the eggs. I own 3 girls, 2 of breeding age and they reabsorb everytime. I notice the decrease in eating, and within a few weeks, they are back to eating like pigs again. Keep an eye for lethargy or if she appears to be forcing the eggs out which means she will need to have surgery....good luck and let us know how things go! And let us know if you have any other questions. Lyn

I've read that female iguanas can be quite picky when it comes to finding a suitable place to nest and lay. The substrate in your viv should allow for her to dig. There should be adequate amounts of space, darkness, moisture content, and temps.
