Hi, My name is Orion and I've once agian been bitten by the bug.
I joined this forum because it really seems to be an active place that I can learn from others about different herps commonly kept in captivity. I've been keeping fish for several years now, and now that a good forum is worth it's weight in digital gold.
The first herp my wife and I kept was a cute tiny RES. As I'm sure so many are told, they will live just fine in the turttle lagon the LFS told us and won't get any bigger than they are now (about the size of a fiftycent piece)

Thanks to a little research, by the time we got rid of him his carapace was just shy of 5 inches and was healthy as an ox.
Since then we've shared a little more experence with other herps, small amphibious ones mainly. Firebelly toads and some tree frogs, and of course the mighty Green Anole. Previously we had a mating pair of anoles and the female laid eggs like clockwork. We never made any special effort to hatch them, so they always ended up cricket food if we didn't remove them in time.
So now we are back and this time with the game face on. I recently took down one of my cichlid tanks and have converted it into a 45 gallon vivarium.
I'm looking forward to learning all that this site has to offer and hopefully give back some. I thought that information on fish on the net was conflicting, it aint nothing compared to the info on herps, if you can even find some. lol
