Merlin,

In regards to the cage that is going to the school, it is the 50 gallon tank. The school does not turn off electricity...we live in Laguna Beach, CA and I am 1 mile from my school. I check on my other classrooom pets and when we are prolonged breaks, they come home with me.

The new cage, the PVC zipper thing is for the house for the little ig. I will work on getting something more permanent ASAP. I also understand that both dwellings will not last long in terms of size.

I went to the store tonight and purchased Kale, red swiss chard, collard greens, turnips and blueberries. I just want to assure you that I am working on it!!!! I so appreciate your advice!!

The little ig.....the one in the ER is doing much better. Her color is returning, she is almost green again and she ate some today. I'm just worried about the tank she is on. It will only have to last for another 2 days......it's the 10 gallon tank and I have 2 small heating lamps. She is near 2 windows and is getting some sunlight, but I know that the humidity is is off, I keep spraying it down and added some moss today.

Thanks so much for your help.

Shelli

The sunlight coming through the window is no good if there is glass or a fine mesh screen, it filters out the UVB. In fact the sunlight on the glass tank can cause the tank to overheat.
By moss are you talking about for a substrate? There is no particulate substrate that is safe for iguanas. They taste everything and will end up swallowing it. This can lead to an impaction.

I know nothing about iguanas, but welcome and good luck! There are a lot of good "iguana people" here

Good Luck with everything, i'm glad you are taking the time to learn to care for them properly! Two iguanas is a HUGE commitment, even for an advanced reptile keeper, you are much braver than I.

I know very little about Iguanas... sorry. Welcome to HC and make sure you check out Iguana Center, you will probably get a bit more help there.
