Hello everyone I'm Ron from Sunny (and smoggy) Bakersfield, Ca. I am new to reptiles.. a bought a garter snake for my daughter for a school project, she (we) had to build and design a habitat. it was tons of fun!! after all the researching we done I was hooked we are wanting to get a Ball Pyton or Red Tail Boa for Christmas, we look on the online reptile auctions daily looking for the perfect new family member. My whole life I have been a fish person, I have had up to 7 aquariums up and running at a time. (lots of work) right now I have only a 150 gallon one running right now for my S.A. Cichlids... we also 2 dogs, 2 cats, & 3 kids (their the hardest to maintain)... well anyway this site seems awsome... Keep up the great work...

Hello and welcome to the forums, for a somewhat easier snake many people recommend ball pythons, they don't get as large as a boa will either, both in length and girth. I myself think both can be fairly easy to start out with, seeing as many people get boas as babies, starting out with younger animals gives the owners time to grow with them IMO. Im sure you have been browsing kingsnake.com classifieds..and if not then you should lol, has to be IMO one of the best places to find critters to buy online what with the various people who advertise on it.

Hi Amelia, yes I have spent hours on kingsnake.com its a great site. I spend a lot of time looking on ******************* too... looking through the forums there Lead me to Herp Habitats, which lead me hear...which are two great sites... tons of info...
