Re: New Here!

Hello there DX.

Not sure about a 7 gallon tank. Maybe some frogs?

What do you like? Get one and then ask "How big of a tank do I need for this?"

Re: New Here!

Im really into pets and animals so I dont really care what I get as long as its easy to care for and it doesnt hurt me. Ive been thinking about anoles or leopard geckos, but my budget is only $50...

Re: New Here!

we just got a Leopard Gecko this weekend and we originally had it in a 5 gallon. little small.
We moved into a 10 gallon today. A lot better. A 7 gallon may work

Re: New Here!

7 gallon is too small for a leo or anole. 10 is minimum. You can't get a proper heat gradient with anything smaller than a 10 gallon.

You say you have $50, but what about ongoing care? New lights, feeding your animal crickets/mealworms/superworms, buying new things like cage carpet or new hides when they need to be replaced?

The most you could do with a 7 gallon is have a single Firebellied Toad. However there is a lot of cage maintenance with one.

Its best to ask what you want, do your research and then meet the animal's needs.

Welcome to HerpCenter. With that size of tank your options are extremely limited.

Re: New Here!

Get a fire belly toad....they require work but one toad is like 5 bucks and then after all the the stuff you need in his cage you'll have money left for food so.

Re: New Here!

with $50 I could buy a 10 gal... But then my budget for other things would be extremely limited... Yes, I've read the care sheets and know the long term costs. $50 is just the start up cost, I will spend more money on my herp in the long term. I'll try and get a cheap 10 gal of the internet.

Re: New Here!

Stick with toads then when you get more money go for a leopard gecko because a 10 gallon is BARE minimum once you put all the stuff in their home they barely have any room to walk so when they adult theyll probably want a bigger cage
