Re: Severe Reptile Obsession :-)
Welcome. You are in good company. I also have quite a few animals but only one that is a not 4 legged and furry. Never worry about flak. Not here. I was worried about my poor little old doggie sleeping in the same room with my Roxy (healthy, God willing), a boa and I got nothing but good advice and support. I think love, education and common sense go a long way. You seem to have plenty of all of them. When I'm lacking in any, I get it here.

Re: Severe Reptile Obsession :-)
Welcome. :]]
All your animals are beautiful.
I love the bearded dragons.
I would love to have one...
But that's just another thing added to my ever growing wish list. lol.
I never know what to get first.
Your Bella is a very gorgeous snake.
I dunno much about ball pythons... but my boyfriend has one.
It's still little.
But yours is sososo pretty. Her picture really stood out to me.
Oh, and the cute doggie with a Bearded Dragon on her [[his?]] back. x]]
Right now, other than four legged friends, I only have a rough green snake named Sprite.
He's not even in his right tank...
It was originally an aquarium, so the lid wasn't right for a snake.
So I'm going to have to make a lid... Or maybe I'll find one somewhere.
Ebay!! Hah.
Anyways, good luck with all the new additions. :]

Re: Severe Reptile Obsession :-)
Thanks! I actually had a DISASTER with one of my Bearded Dragons. About 2 weeks ago a lady had a posting on Craigslist saying she had 5 lizards that her son left when he moved. 3 uromastyx and 2 Bearded Dragons (M&F). I took them in (in bad health) and took the two Bearded Dragons who were VERY calm outside to get some sun, and the male FLIPPED out on me. He blew his beard up and started hissing and took off running under my car. I spent like 20 minutes trying to get him, and the neighbors dog started freaking out barking and the Bearded Dragon ran under my house. I have yet to find him. :-( I did get a pic before he bolted, he was the most beautiful Bearded Dragon I had ever seen and the picture is award winning!! I've been dumping crickets in the back yard in hopes that he's still alive and healthy. It BREAKS my heart to think someone might find him and freak out. He's rather large, maybe 2. :-( :-( Anyway, I love taking pics and sharing. KIT!!

Re: Severe Reptile Obsession :-)
Bummer. Rule #1 always put a leash on your herps when you take them out. You can make a really simple leash that goes around his hips. Hopefully you will find him.

Re: Severe Reptile Obsession :-)
Well, I've learned my lesson. I don't take the female out without a leash on. It's SO easy to use, when she darts, I can just kind of pull the leash and get her off the ground enough so she doesn't get far. :-)
PS - It's more like a harness than a leash, so it distributes the tension all over her body and not just neck or hips. :-)

Re: Severe Reptile Obsession :-)
A leash is always used here when taking my little monsters outside, or even just in the house, as it is an old house with many hiding places. You have done a wonderful thing taking in all of the ones that needed a home. Rehoming can sometimes be a quirky thing, they will act all docile until they see a way to slip away or until they become comfortable enough to challenge you. All our rescues here from the 4 legged furry varieties to the no-legged scaled varieties showed different sides at first from what they ultimately became once they got healthy. Good luck with your crew.
