Just Came Home from the Herp Vet

I have a 3 month old Water dragon named Bahari, I've only had him for two weeks. The first week he ate a good amount of food, but the week after he just stopped eating all together. I went to the vet today, they checked his stool sample and weighed him. They said he was a little under weight and looked very weak. Thank god he had NO parasites though! They told me it was probably because of the breeder he came from. Now I have to force feed the poor baby with a tube! (its AD baby veggie food) I know it sounds so cruel but it doesn't hurt him, and he does eat the food an seems to enjoy it, he licks his mouth after to make sure theres nothing left He's such a sweety I love him!!!

Welcome to the HCN! I've had to force feed dragons as well, soon he will be eating on his own again. Keep us updated and post pics if you can.

Re: Just Came Home from the Herp Vet

Try dropping the food onto your Dragon's nose so he has to lick it off. Its much less stressful than shoving a tube down his throat!

Tell us about his enclosure. Temps, humidity, size, lighting and his diet.

Welcome to Herp Center. I am glad you brought him to the vet and there aren't any parasites. Good luck with him and let us know if you have any questions.
