New "Mom" in MO

Hello everyone, I'm a relatively new reptile owner and totally in love. My husband and I own a male Bearded Dragon whose name is Loki. We just measured him this morning and he is 14 1/2 inches long (he has grown 4 1/2 inches since we got him in early April). I joined up just for my little guy, to make sure I'm taking good care of him.

I have had male bearded dragons that have reached 20 inches! Tell us more about your dragon and it's habitat.
Welcome

Re: New "Mom" in MO

That's our guy, though this picture was taken two or three weeks ago and I'm sure he's grown since then! This is also right before he finally finished shedding, so his back still looks off-colored. He is now a beautiful orange-red all over, just as he should be. The picture does show his pretty color on his head, at least.

I can't remember the gallon size on his tank, but he has lots of room to run around and does so often, and there is also some driftwood and artificial plants to climb and bask on. He's really got an attitude. If we're sitting near his enclosure and he feels he needs something (usually crickets!) then he will do his high-stepping march right over to the corner nearest us and stare until we do something.

Personally I'd like to breed the sweethearts someday. But my husband doesn't agree and I don't know that we'd have the space anyway, so I'm hoping maybe I'll find someone to stud him to when he's mature. I think Loki is far too pretty to NOT pass his genes on!

He's a cutie. You can see the nice coloring in his head and toes.
